It's a new year, a new guy each week, and tonight...a new salad (no innuendo intended. A literal salad.)
I'm heading to scene-y Hollywood party with Kay late tonight, so I decided to make myself a nice little dinner of leftovers before I depart. I stumbled upon a salad that is absolutely delicious, so I wanted to share it ASAP:
Fennel-Orange Salad
1 bulb fennel, peeled and sliced very thinly
1 orange, peeled and sliced into rounds
Dash rice wine vinegar
Dash olive oil
Himalayan pink salt to taste
Freshly ground pepper to taste
Sprinkle of golden raisins
Combine all ingredients, allow to sit for 15 minutes. Serves one hungry single girl, pre-party.
I also made some roasted broccoli with chili flakes, and a little tortelloni...I told you I'm using up what's left in my fridge...what a great start to the night!
It's been quite a weekend, my friends. And Saturday night ain't even begun...

That sounds amazing ... always love the fennel ... Himalayan pink salt?
ReplyDeleteHimalayan pink salt can be found at Trader Joe's. It's quite mild and lovely. Two dollars well spent!
ReplyDeleteAlso...it was the Himalayan pink salt in this recipe that prompted Mr. Ugly-Sexy (now called J. Nich) to propose to me (see "My Dumplings Bring All the Boys to the Yard".) All I'm sayin' is that it's powerful stuff.
